Production processes

Project code: JKI-ÖPV-08-1288
Contract period: 01.04.2013 - 31.12.2017
Purpose of research: Applied research

Previous studies suggest that the ploidy of Melissa is associated with qualitative and quantitative differences. All previously investigated diploid forms are citral-types, all tetraploids are germacrene-types and the small number of triploids are caryophyllene-types. The general validity of this provisional classification must be proved. In addition tetraploids should be made from diploids, oktaploids from tetraploids and hexaploids from triploids and the changes of components should be observed. Simultaneously is carried out a study of morphology (St. Petersburg) and of distribution of active compounds and oil cells on foliar surfaces by spectroscopic (ÖPV Berlin) and microscopic (EP Braunschweig) methods as well as the investigation of their variability in pre- and postharvest stage.
