Production processes

Project code: JKI-GF-08-0054
Contract period: 01.01.2011 - 31.12.2019
Purpose of research: Applied research

The expansion and increased use of renewable resources are associated with interventions in the ecosystem, the effects are not well known. Although the cultivation of fast-growing tree species inter alia on agricultural land, represents a good addition to the energy wood assortments of the forestry, energy forests are subject to the economic goal - the production of the raw material. For reasons eg. monoculture the energy forests are vulnerable to disturbances. In addition, the habitat potential of energy wood surfaces is little studied and controversial. Research approaches: Continuous measurement of pests, documentation and analysis of habitat potential, attempts to improve the growing conditions, development of appropriate monitoring and pest management practices.
