Purpose of research: Applied research
The project is focusssed on the development and application of selection strategies in berry fruit breeding (strawberry, raspberry and black currant). Pre-selected material is already available and needs further charcterization. The aim of selection is on such traits like resistcne to diseases, fruit quality as well as productivity. Selected genotypes will be used as parents in crossing. For parent and progeny selection innovative methods of phenotyping and genotyping will be used.
