Comparison of plant protection strategies 'General principles of integrated pest management' and 'Crop or sector-specific guidelines for integrated pest management' - in a long-term field trial
Project
Project code: JKI-SF-08-0058
Contract period: 01.01.2016
- 31.12.2019
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
In a long-term field trial, two strategies 'Grundsätze Integrierter Pflanzenschutz (principles of integrated pest managemen)t' and 'Leitlinien Integrierter Pflanzenschutz (guidelines of integrated pest management)'are investigated. Also the influence of tillage (plowing or minimum tillage) is compared in both strategies. The field trial includes a crop rotation with six crops. Depending on the strategy different methods of plant protection methods are combined. At the strategy 'Leitlinien Integrierter Pflanzenschutz' the resistance of the varieties for example is taken into consideration. There are intensive measurements for the occurrence of different pests (fungal diseases, insects and weeds). In both strategies actual warning services, thresholds, forecast models and expert systems are used for the decision to spray or not to spray. The treatment index should be lower in the average of the years for the strategy 'Leitlinien Integrierter Pflanzenschutz'. For the evaluation of the two strategies the yields, the treatment index and economic indicators are compared.
