Collaborative project: Using Big Data in the agricultural production in an innovative way – subproject 1
Project
Project code: 2815705915
Contract period: 15.04.2016
- 14.04.2019
Budget: 292,528 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development
Machines that produce large amounts of data are already used in modern agriculture. So far, however, this big data has hardly been used to sustainably optimize the production of food and agricultural raw materials. The aim of the BiDa-LAP project was therefore to remedy the situation by developing a digital infrastructure system. The system bundles electronic information from different data sources during field work and brings it into a new agronomic context. This means that farmers can either be supported directly on site (operational decisions) or later analyze potential improvements in their production when evaluating the documented data (strategic decisions). The system developed in the BiDa-LAP project is based on a platform architecture and mobile data loggers. It has already been tested, evaluated and further developed on a trial farm in Germany.
