Collaborative project: Efficient fuel use in agricultural technology - subproject 12 (EKoTech)

Project

Project code: 2819107216
Contract period: 10.07.2016 - 09.09.2019
Budget: 183,620 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development

The core message of the EKoTech project follows the formula "More output, less CO2", which shows that output orientation plays a central role in fuel efficiency in agricultural machinery. In concrete terms, the research team has succeeded for the first time in proving, across all manufacturers, that innovative agricultural machinery, intelligent process control and modern operating concepts ensure significantly lower fuel consumption in relation to output. A steeply falling CO2 curve can be observed along the agricultural production chain, relative to output. 35 to 40 percent less fuel – the agricultural machinery industry has committed itself to this strong reduction potential for the period from 1990 to 2030. Simulations, model calculations and empirical studies – the methodological triad of the research project – illustrate the validity of the research hypothesis.
