Collaborative project: Essential fatty acids and conjugated linoleic acid in milk as bioindicator for animal health in the dairy cow - subproject 2
Project
Project code: 2817900415
Contract period: 01.08.2016
- 31.07.2019
Budget: 137,405 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development
The importance of essential fatty acids and conjugated linoleic acid for milk performance, metabolism and the immune system was investigated in FITCOW. The use of these fatty acids as bioindicator to assess animal health in dairy production is unclear. Although the importance of these fatty acids for performance and animal health could be shown, a high-throughput measurement of these fatty acids in milk is not available and the practical relevance of the method is currently not given.
