Purpose of research: Experimental development
In the INMATI project, selected indicators for animal welfare in fattening pig husbandry were examined with regard to reliability, practicability and validity and an economic evaluation of animal welfare measures was carried out with a comparison between farms participating in the Animal Welfare Initiative and farms without participation. The study provides results on the methodological approach to the collection of animal welfare indicators and results from practical farms.
