X-MAS Drones is developing an AI-supported drone system that automates key steps in Christmas tree cultivation. With the help of modern sensor technology and image analysis, quality assessments, vitality checks, and weed control are to be carried out more efficiently and in a more resource-friendly manner. The system enables precise stock monitoring and helps businesses reduce labor costs, use resources more efficiently, and implement new cultivation strategies, such as undersowing, in a practical manner. In cooperation between the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, several Christmas tree farms, and the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture, an innovative tool is being developed that strengthens the sustainability and competitiveness of this special crop typical of Schleswig-Holstein.
