Model-based decision support system for site- and climate-optimized cropping systems for narrow-leaved lupin, chickpea, soybean, and buckwheat - subproject JKI (MINOR+)
Project
Project code: 2823ABS051
Contract period: 01.04.2024
- 31.07.2027
Budget: 300,342 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: crop production, climate change adaptation, process engineering, cultivation, modeling, forecast,
MINOR+ aims to foster the production potential of narrow-leaved lupin, chickpea, soybean, and buckwheat in Germany using model-based decision support and to exploit the opportunities for adapting crop production to climate change with these crops as part of a diverse crop rotation. As there is no evaluated decision support system for the cultivation of the four crops in Germany, and the crops are currently only cultivated on a small scale but have a high potential due to their climate resilience (heat and drought stress tolerance), the benefit of MINOR+ for decision support regarding cultivation suitability and the development of agronomic measures is considered very high.
