BASF's activities in the field of plant biotechnology are consolidated in BASF Plant Science. BASF Plant Science is an internationally networked research and technology Verbund with eight research centers in Europe and North America. In addition, there are a great number of cooperative agreements with research institutes, universities and biotechnology companies, such as the biotechnology company Monsanto. BASF currently employs approximately 700 staff members in the field of plant biotechnology.
