Improving phenotypic testing of AMR by development of rapid and sensitive screening assays for emerging resistances and setting missing ECOFFs (Epidemiologic cutoff values) (Project)

...IMPART includes four topics related to the development and harmonization of phenotypic methods for detection of antimicrobial resistance: (1) selective isolation and detection of colistin-resistant Enterobacteriaceae, (2) selective isolation and detection of carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae, (3) development of a standardized disk diffusion method for susceptibility testing of Clostridium difficile, (4) setting ECOFFs for specific veterinary pathogen/antibiotic combinations. IMPART will result in a harmonized sensitive method to detect colistin-resistant (carrying mcr) (WP1) and carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (WP2) in caecal samples from animals and in food. ...Then, knowledge and experience would be shared inside IMPART and disseminated outside IMPART using efficient and innovative tools (WP5)....

Systems of cropping energy plants - impacts on soil microbial properties and soil carbon dynamics (Project)

...1) to determine quantitative and qualitative changes in soil carbon pools following cultivation of energy crops; 2) to access the microbial biomass (Cmic) and community structure (fungi-to-bacteria ratios), as well as microbial activity (basal and specific, qCO2, respiration) under the studied cropping systems; 3) to compare selective inhibition technique (SI) and phospholipids fatty acids analysis (PLFA) used for measuring fungal and bacterial contribution to soil microbial biomass; 4) to find the main factors (soil chemical and physical properties, cropping management types) which control and constrain soil microbial properties (biomass, community structure, and activity), as well as carbon dynamics in the cropping systems under study; 5) to indicate which type of cropping systems (with/without ploughing or irrigation) provides sustainability of total soil organic carbon, or carbon fractions, as well as microbial properties of soil....

Establishment of a 'consumer law professorship' (Project)

...The activity spectrum arises from the main goal 7 of the Research Plan 2008 of the BMELV in the field of consumers' economic welfare. ...Are then treated to mix of private 1.the legal and public instruments of consumer protection, 2 the distribution of the standardization and enforcement responsibilities between the levels of Europe - federal - state, 3 the relationship between individual, collective and sovereign law enforcement, 4th the question of consumer protection through consumer information or by market regulation. ...The work on a handbook for consumer law should be so far advanced that a publication is likely to 5 years after the start of the grant period....

Collaborative project: Standardization of the GeoBox infrastructure - Phase 1: Dezentralized data management and regional networking - subproject 1 (Project)

...The goal of the project GeoBox-I is the experimental development, testing and dissemination of a practicable prototype of a standardized and resilient GeoBox infrastructure for decentralized data storage and regional networking. This includes (1) providing data structures and vocabularies for exchange-relevant information which are easy to understand in a suitable web portal as a public service to the industry; (2) the GeoBox specification as a corporate data hub with a cache for a variety of relevant information, under the sole control of the particular farm; (3) the provision of key geospatial and technical data for farms with decentralized storage in farms; (4) the realization of communication protocols and form assistants for standardized data exchange with third parties; (5) the design of exemplary services that extract directly useful advice to farmers from the standardized data available; and (6) the implementation of all essential functions in the form of disclosed reference implementations of exemplary applications. These are focused on sovereign information and advice in the field of crop protection and transferred to the practice in the context of education and training on the topic of resilient smart farming. The 5 packages of the work plan include 1) design and specification of the system concept and the overall architecture, 2) the realization of the infrastructure level with GeoBox server with dynamic vocabulary services (including provision of vocabulary and appropriate change management), 3) the reference implementation of a 'HofBox' as decentralized knowledge store and node for internal and external data communication (operational level of resilient communication capability), 4) the realization of exemplary apps for communication, service and consulting assistance to agricultural applications in the field (examples of service level), finally 5) the support of roll-out and practical introduction by training and further education, training courses, cooperations with model companies, comparison with other federal states and establishment of a project-accompanying advisory board from associations, industry and users....
