Purpose of research: Applied research
The chamber of agriculture NRW and the department of agriculture of the university of applied sciences Südwestfalen are pooling their activities in trials and research in all matters of grassland management to ensure a positive future development for Greenland regions. There will be research projects to develop innovations and to give informations to politics. The location of this new grassland research station will be Meschede. The following projects will be executed: 1. Examination of the practical use and valuation of application of 230 kg/ha/a N from animal manure. 2. Examination of wash out of nitrate and loss of phosphorus after the application of 230 kg/ha/a N from animal manure. 3. Technique of of liquid manure application and the quality of gras sward. 4. Integration of biogas production in grasland farms
