Purpose of research: Basic research

The groups of crops fresh herbs, tea like products, spices and medicinal herbs contain more than one hundred individual plant species. Residue analysis for MRL setting is difficult, because of the complex plant matrices. On the basis of the Working Document Doc. 7525/VI/95-rev. 7, 12/3/2001exist the possibility to transfer residue data from one crop to an other if the very minor crops are in the same group. But valide investigations are missing for the estimation of the worst case crop in each group. New standards for preventive consumer protection will be established with fundamental research for the improvement of extrapolation methods.
