Collaborative project: Whole body analyses for the evaluation of nutrient supply recommendations and excretion of fattening boars - Subproject C (GKAEber)
Project
Project code: 281C701C21
Contract period: 01.04.2023
- 31.03.2025
Budget: 27,567 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: emissions, animal feed, pigs, slaughter
The main objective of this project is to generate data on the nutrient accretion of fattening boars. For this purpose, whole bodies of fattening boars at four weight stages are homogenised, chemically analysed and nutrient accretion and retention are calculated. Data on the nutrient accretion form the basis for emission calculations on the one hand and are on the other hand the main influencing variable in the determination of nutrient requirements. Hence, data on nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium accretion allow a revision of feeding recommendations, an update of data on nutrient emission and thus promote a reduction of emissions from boar fattening farms.
