GC-MS spectral library META-MRI for untargeted metabolome analysis
Project
Project code: MRI-OG-08-54401Metabolomics4
Contract period: 01.01.2001
- 31.12.2015
Purpose of research: Basic research
In case of untargeted metabolome analyses, the presence of comprehensive and platform- as well as application-specific spectral libraries is a prerequisite for reliable automatic substance identification. Although well-known metabolomics-specific libraries, e.g. the Golm Metabolome Database, exist, they are still rather incomplete and not equally suitable for all biological matrices.
The aim of the project is to permanently expand the META-MRI database developed at institute. For this purpose, available standard compounds will be acquired and analysed under standardised conditions, their spectra will be recorded and their retention indices determined. Additionally, the spectra will also be inserted into a Microsoft Access database in order to enable the interpretation of the spectra of unknown compounds missing in the database. The database will be made available for the scientific community on the MRI website.
