Description
At the place where the most famous Neanderthal fossil was found, the new Neanderthal Museum opened its doors to the public on the 10th of October 1996. It was the day when long lasting efforts to build an adequate museum came to a happy ending.
The Neanderthal Museum is one of the most successful archaeological museums in Germany. About 170.000 visitors per year come to see the award-winning multi-media exhibition, which was updated in 2006.
