The Institute provides scientific support to policy makers, management advisors and enterprises in horticulture in Germany. Research of the institute deals with questions related to global food security and world trade as well as natural resource use and environmental economics especially in developing countries. n teaching the institute offers courses in Development and Environmental Economics and Economic Policy at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration
