Purpose of research: Applied research
In the future, small scale wood gas CHP plants will increasingly use biomass from cycle- and cascade-use. Compared to the currently used high quality fuels, these biomasses represent a challenge for failure-free plant operation due to their higher heterogeneity and their higher share of combustion critical chemical elements. Thus, these biomasses require pre-treatment routines in order to be suitable for small gasification plants. The research project “VergaOpt” aims at the development of flexible, high-performance and cost-effective fuel processing routines and of reliable online and rapid test methods for on-site fuel quality assurance.
