Influence of the integration of ALS-tolerant sugar beet in a crop rotation on the development of herbicide-resistant weeds
Project
Project code: JKI-A-08-1212
Contract period: 01.10.2014
- 31.12.2017
Purpose of research: Applied research
This project aims to identify risks associated with ALS tolerant sugar beets, to develop strategies to prevent herbicide resistance evolution and to test their effectiveness. In addition, yield impacts due to a higher herbicide tolerance of the new varities compared to conventional varities will be described. Cropping systems differing in the intensity of ALS herbicide use will be compared regarding their suitability for the integration of ALS tolerant crops. Aim of the project is to develop cropping systems that enable the sustainable use of the benefits of ALS tolerant sugar beet varieties for all end-users.
