The experimental field DigiVine will make use of digital technologies within the viticultural value-added chain network. On use cases, DigiVine will develop and test these technologies with practical users. The interdisciplinary team includes grape and wine producers, developers and manufactures of viticulture device technology, IT service providers, research institutes and scientists with expertises in the field of digitalization and sensor- based data acquisition and analysis. Interaction between research and development, consulting and viticulture practice is intensified by DigiVine to benefit from implementing digitalization in various processes of grape production. Moreover, it will generate tailor-made services, and recommendations for grape growers to increase the work and resource efficiency, as well as legal certainty. DigiVine integrates extensive, heterogeneous data sources about and from the vineyard, as well as relevant administrative framework. Algorithms make plot and subplot specific information on crop management and mechanized available, supporting quality orientated production by use case specific concrete recommendations. DigiVine supports winegrowers to get access to digitalization, introduces new technologies and markets to suppliers, and generates knowledge to enlarge the circle of users. Implemented interfaces create production transparency towards consumers. Within nine use cases, research and development will create new approaches. Among other things, lead farms will be implemented and used to check suitability in different viticulture producing structures (winery, cooperative, grape producers). The applications developed for individual use cases provides new tools that go beyond state of the art. DigiVine will create open interfaces to existing services to cover the process chain from planting to grape delivery.
