Collaborative Project: Artificial intelligence as a basis for future plant breedingbig data - subproject C using (KI-Zucht)
Project
Project code: 28DK115C20
Contract period: 20.05.2021
- 19.05.2024
Budget: 239,147 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: plant genetic resources, knowledge transfer, networking, crop production, digital world, genetic resources, AI Artificial Intelligence
The main objectives of this project are to develop and apply machine learning methods for pattern recognition from highly complex genome/phenome and environmental data sets for the prediction of performance-related and environment-dependent genetic structures in plant breeding populations. Data attributes extracted on the basis of ML will then be used to optimise different breeding processes in the sense of improved general combining ability and selection success and thus to accelerate progress at different levels of a practical hybrid breeding programme on the basis of big data.
