Project code: 2809HS013
Contract period: 06.11.2009 - 30.11.2011
Budget: 243,422 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research

'The project data to the metabolism and bioavailability of glycidol fatty acid esters generate. The project will begin on 01/08/09 and is for a 24-month period until 7/31/11, conceived. Glycidol is the main hydrolysis of these esters and was classified as a probable human carcinogen (category 2). Another secondary metabolite is ß-chloro lactic acid. Pilot study: In a pilot experiment to be chemical-analytical methods for determination of glycidol fatty acid esters or glycidol in the blood (hemoglobin adducts) and urine (glutathione conjugates) have been established and validated. These must be sufficiently sensitive to small amounts (detection limit: microgram range) can be detected. In addition, a classical ADME study with a C-14 labeled glycidol fatty acid esters are carried out to quantify the metabolism better. Animal model: male rats, study design according to Directive Toxicokinetics OECD 417; GLP standards. '
