Büsgen Institute, Department of Bioclimatology
Institution
Section overview
Description
The Department Bioclimatology deals in research and teaching with the interaction between forest and atmosphere. It is the measuring, modeling and analysis of energy flows and biogeochemical cycles in forest ecosystems and their response to climate change and land use changes in the foreground.
Activities
- Research
Parent institution
Coordinated projects
- Climate change and extreme weather events
- Influence of small clear-cuttings on micro-climate and water budget of forests: Three-dimensional modeling and field measurements (application package Beese / Gravenhorst / Meiwes)
- Mobile oxygen measurement field station
- SFB 552: B1 - Energy and mass exchange between atmosphere and tropical ecosystems
- Vertical turbulent transport in forest atmospheres: its quantification, near the forest floor with activity ratios of airborne radioactive decay products of radon
