On June 20, 1986 the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) was founded under the patronage of the German State Ministry of Trade, Industry, Technology, and Transportation in Lower Saxony. Our main task is to support applied research in laser technology on a non-profit basis

- Collaborative project: A mobile LED-laser-trap to rouse, attract, monitor, and selectively combat herbivorous insects - subproject 1
- Collaborative project: Reducing microbial contamination of poultry meat before and after butchering by combined approach with laser surface decontamination and bacteriophages. Subproject 2
- GROW - Grassland maintenance with robot operated laser weeding
- InavIVUS - Inactivation of avian influenza viruses by remote UV treatment in the stable air supply
- LURUU - Application of laser light to control weed plants prone to develop resistance to chemical herbicides
