Purpose of research: Applied research
For occurences of harmful organisms in the EU, the online database EUROPHYT outbreaks has been developed. Notice of outbreaks and interceptions are notified directly in EUROPHYT outbreaks or interceptions, respectively, by the plant health services. It is available for plant protection services and the JKI channels data entry, consultation and information. Notifications are checked and validated by the JKI. Notifications from other member states are regularly evaluated, passed on to the plant protection services and in this manner used for statistics.
Reliable data are offered on an up-to-date basis allowing to assess pathways for introduction of harmful organisms and contributing to reduce the risk of its introduction.
