Estimating the risk of substances by spatial multi-biomarker profiling of 3D tissue cultures
Project
Project code: BfR-ZEBET-08-1328-192
Contract period: 01.09.2006
- 31.08.2009
Purpose of research: Applied research
Goal of this project is the development of a novel method allowing the measurement of spatial expression patterns of many biomarkers in in-vitro-epithelial tissues in an objective, automatic and quantitative way. On the basis of this spatial characterization the risk potential of a substance shall be classified. Assessing the spatial and combinatorial patterns of biomarkers can reflect multiple functional aspects of the tissue under study and therefore is eligible for studying the effects of complex and weakly acting substances.
