Purpose of research: Applied research
The goal of the project is to contribute to poverty alleviation by protecting both the health of low-income consumers and livestock-based livelihoods of the poor through improved food safety of livestock products in domestic markets in east, west and southern Africa. The purpose of the project is to establish capacity for the sustained promotion of risk-based approaches thus improving food safety and participation of the poor in informal markets for livestock products in sub Saharan Africa.
