Description
ECT assists industry and governmental authorities in investigating the effects and fate of chemicals in the environment. The results of our experimental and literature studies are used in risk assessments for chemical substances or genetically modified organisms. Furthermore, ECT co-ordinates large research projects and functions as a mediator between industry and governmental authorities. ECT also performs standardised tests under laboratory and field conditions for chemical substances released in the aquatic, benthic or terrestrial environment. We develop new or modify existing methods and devices to investigate specific ecotoxicological problems.
