On 1 July 2018, the Department of Agriculture and Food Economy (LE) changed its name to
The Department of Sustainable Agriculture and Energy Systems (AE).
The new name communicates the department’s objectives of addressing the ongoing social changes of our times and their associated challenges (climate change, food security and food quality) and to help find sustainable solutions.
