Description

We are one of geographically largest and most traditional institutions in Central Europe. This allows the one hand, a wide range of courses to benefit the other, but also a complex research environment of the students. While still a student, we offer access to the research front. The variety of subjects such a large university such as the LMU also offers students a wide range of elective offerings. Great emphasis is placed on the maintenance of international relations. The LMU has over 70 collaborations with prestigious partner universities. The Department of Geography additionally has maintained close contacts with scientific institutions in Kazakhstan, Russia, Cuba, France, Italy, Austria, Netherlands, Australia and the USA. Munich is in Germany and the Alps 'university'. The High Mountain was and is an important research area in geography at the LMU. In addition, Munich has a long tradition in urban geography. With the given infrastructure in Munich, it is possible to offer parts of the Geography in the theory, which are taught in Munich, but only a few universities in Germany.
