Eight faculties offer a wide diversity of study options in the form of practice-oriented Bachelor and Master degree programmes in engineering, business studies, design, architecture, health and social services. Numerous study options, a wide choice of general-education subjects including languages and soft skills, plus further training programmes which can be taken alongside the main course of study offer an opportunity to create a personal study profile tailored to the individual’s talents and affinities. In Bavaria for example, Mathematics, Microsystems Technology, Production Engineering and Automation and Technical Computer Science can only be studied at OTH Regensburg. OTH Regensburg is also expanding its range of dual degree courses.
Applied Research
The profile of OTH Regensburg as a centre of learning is further enhanced by joint research projects, as its teaching staff maintain close working relations with partners in practice, including industrial companies, commercial enterprises and the social services. These research and transfer projects are coordinated by the Institute of Applied Research and Partnership with Industry (IAFW) which is based at OTH Regensburg. Special emphasis is placed on Sensor Technology, IT Security, Microsystems Technology and Microelectronics, Software Engineering, Logistics and Bioengineering. The activities of OTH Regensburg are an integral part of regional and national clusters. Strategic partnerships exist with local authorities, business and other higher education establishments, especially the University of Regensburg.
