Description
The division explores social aspects of sustainable resource use in agriculture and in rural areas. The research activities of the division focus particularly on 'institutions of sustainability'. This key notion comprises a multitude of institutional questions ranging from local participation to international agreements and conventions. The interrelations between institutions and sustainable use of resources are also reflected by the division's newly designed course programme comprising 'Theory of Sustainability', 'Environmental and Resource Economics' and 'New Institutional and Political Economy'.
