Development of phenotypic and genotypic tools for improving the breeding of durum resistant to two mosaic viruses
Project
Project code: JKI-RS-08-3393
Contract period: 01.02.2017
- 31.08.2019
Purpose of research: Applied research
Soil-borne cereal mosaic virus (SBCMV) and wheat spindle streak mosaic virus (WSSMV) are two viruses present in France, which impact significantly yield of bread wheat as well as durum. Several SBCMV or WSSMV resistance genes have been identified for bread wheat but not for durum. Thus, breeders have currently relatively few tools for selecting durum varieties resistant to these two viruses.
