Implementation of the European regulation against routine tail docking in pigs requires successful prevention of tail biting. The Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut (FLI) has developed the SchwIP management tool for tail biting risk reduction. The aims of this project led by IFIP-Institut du porc are to translate, adapt and test SchwIP under French pig production conditions. Through the project, a national expert group is involved as well as FLI as external partner.
