Pre-normative research on solid biofuels for improved European standards

Purpose of research: Applied research
Together with other European partners test methods are developed for the determination of bridging properties of biofuels and for the determination of the degree of mineral impurities. The results are directly utilized in the standardisation process, where TFZ is member of the respective working groups of CEN TC335. Furthermore the influences of variable fuel qualities in log wood combustion are assessed (moisture content, log dimensions) in order to set requirements for future standard fuels.
