RAPIDD- Modeling of EBLV-1 and -2 Infections in bat reservoir hosts
Project
Project code: FLI-IfE-08-Wu-0047
Contract period: 01.03.2010
- 29.02.2012
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment
RAPIDD aims to improve state-of-the-art of infectious disease modeling (IDM). Major foci of the program include improvement of IDM technologies, comparison of models to data and the link between epidemiological theory and application of models to short- and long-term control of infectious diseases. The major focus is on Foreign Animal Diseases (FAD) and zoonotic infections, but the implications include understanding and management of infectious disease dynamics in general. Infections with European bat lyssavirus type 1 and 2 serve as exemplary infectious zoonotic diseases.
