Project code: FLI-IBIZ-08-N-0028
Contract period: 01.10.2013 - 30.04.2017
Purpose of research: Inventory & Assessment

In many parts of the world including the Sub-Saharan region brucellosis, Q fever and rickettsioses are a major health threat. In humans, these infectious diseases manifest as relatively unspecific flu-like diseases. Intensive animal husbandry and international trade with animals have aggravated the situation over the last years. The study aims at estimating the prevalence of these diseases in patients with fever in Northeastern Kenya and in Nairobi.
