Institute of Mikrobiology and Hygiene
Institution
Section overview
Description
One of the primary research interests interests of the institute is the molecular genetic characterization of currently non-cultivable organisms. We are also interested in understanding how bacteria damage cells and organs during an infection.
Further research focuses on how bacteria cell wall components react with the body’s immune system. In the field of environmental health, the institute investigates living communities of microbes and their role in the removal of chlorinated hydrocarbon, which pollutes earth and water.
