Purpose of research: Experimental development
The objective of this sub-project is the identification of the current spatial distribution of Puumala virus in its reservoir, the bank vole, and its potential expansion associated with the Western evolutionary lineage of the bank vole. Results of these investigations are the basis for in vitro studies in bank vole cell lines and translation into local and regional risk assessment and management and development of public health recommendations for prevention.
