Description
The department Marine Physics and Sensors develops and modifies sensors and sensor systems for monitoring platforms in water and in the air. Marine aquaculture for sustainable fisheries focuses on modern, ecologically sustainable aquaculture techniques including system design, site selection, and selection of collector materials for spat collection and alternative feeding sources, as well as physiology and ecology of cultivated organisms. The department Marine Structures and Nanomaterials utilizes marine micro and nano structures to develop new lightweight constructions and composite materials e.g. for the automotive and the aeronautical industries and safety technology. Blue Bioindustry searches for new procedures in blue biotechnology and develops environmentally sound products for protection against biofouling in open ocean aquaculture and for desalination.
