BMBF - Biomass energy use
Funding programme
Contract period:
2008
- 2019
Project management agency:
Project Management Organisation Juelich
Funding institution:
Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection
Framework programme:
BMBF - National Research Strategy BioEconomy 2030
The programme mainly aims at supporting forward-looking technologies and optimizing of procedures and processes that enable an efficient, economic and sustainable use of biomass. In this context the contribution to supply security plays a key role. In particular, practical-oriented approaches for demonstration and pilot purposes, which contribute to a more flexible power and heat generation from biomass and thus to a climate-friendly heat market, are funded. To improve sustainable energy use in the (combined) power and heat sector, especially the utilization of biogenic residues and organic waste potentials should be optimized.
