Development and comparison of optimized cultivation systems for agricultural production of energy crops under different site conditions in Germany - Phase II (EVA II). Subproject 6: Energy supply by means of biogas and ethanol inclusive exploitation of by-products in an organic farm without livestock (ÖKOVERS) in conjunction with a link for adjustment and bridging (KORB)
Project
Project code: 22013508
Contract period: 01.02.2009
- 30.09.2013
Budget: 1,006,717 Euro
Purpose of research: Applied research
In sub-project 6 of the nation-wide joint research project “Development and Comparison of Optimised Cropping Systems for Agricultural Production of Energy Crops under Different Site Conditions in Germany” the focus of the investigations is on double-cropping systems under conditions of organic and conventional cultivation methods. A wide range of second crops is cultivated in order to extent the spectrum of energy plants. The objective of the study is to examine whether net energy yields per area are increased under this cropping system. Besides, impacts on agrarian ecosystems and economic excellence of double-cropping versus main crop system are evaluated.
