Investigations regarding influence of abiotic stress (temperature, pH-compatibility) to quality parameters of legumes in view of human and animal nutrition
Project
Project code: JKI-RS-08-3359
Contract period: 01.11.2005
- 31.10.2008
Purpose of research: Basic research
Native legumes are more and more important as alternative protein source in animal nutrition as substitute for animal protein in human nutrition. Depending on different environmental factors there are considerable variations in the composition of raw material. A high and constant yield potential but also a raw material with stable quality is necessary for a wide use of legumes. The aim of the project is to investigate the influence of abiotic stress factors, such as temperature and pH-value on important nutritional-physiological parameters of legumes. Simultaneously the distribution of contents in grains is to take into account. The project aims at improvement of abiotic stress tolerance and serves for the opening up and wide use of native resources.
