Chair for Ecological Climatology
Institution
Section overview
Description
Ecoclimatology covers relevant fields of ecology and climatology. The interactions between atmosphere and biosphere are the main research areas of the chair. With interdisciplinary approaches the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems within the climate system as well as impacts of physical, chemical and biological processes of ecosystems on the climate are analysed. The aim is to gain understanding on the impact of the climate system on ecosystem level. This is linked to the development, application and operation of monitoring programmes and suitable models respectively.
