SPP 1090 AG 2: The role of root debris from growing maize plants for the formation of stabilized soil organic soil matter – enlightenment and quantification
Project
Project code: DFG SPP 1090
Contract period: 01.01.2000
- 01.01.2002
Purpose of research: Basic research
Root residues are one of the main sources for the input of organic C compounds into the soil. However, little is known about the actual input of root residues into soil, and the influence of these materials (specifically cell wall residues) on humus formation and preservation of stabilized soil organic matter, respectively. The main reason may be considered absence of suitable investigation methods. Therefore this proposal focuses on the elimination of methodological deficits
