Specialization, a lack of profitability and further reasons such as vegetarian diet of the manager lead to a growing number of organic farms that have no or only a low number of animals. Farms with < 0,2 LU are mainly placed in regions which have a high share of cropland and special crops. This limits the possibility of importing organic fertilizer through fodder-manure-cooperation. The aim of the project is to guarantee long-term soil fertility of stockless organic farms which increases their sustainability. The project involves a sustainability analysis of the stockless farms, the identification and examination of practical innovations, networking between stockless farms, provision information about successful practical innovations for farmers and advisors. The focus of the project is set on farms that provide pratical innovations that improve soil fertility and sustainability (typ 1) and farms which are interested in testing one of these innovations on their farm (typ 2).
