Development of a web-based management system (SWATopti) for non-chemical regulation of carrot fly (Chamaepsila rosae), cabbage fly (Delia radicum) and bean fly (Delia platura) using SWAT and risk analysis (SWATopti)
Project
Project code: 2819NA119, JKI-GF-08-1275
Contract period: 01.03.2022
- 28.02.2025
Purpose of research: Applied research
Keywords: organic farming
The research activities in the SWATopti project are divided into three parts: field observations, laboratory experiments and modelling. In the field observations, spatio-temporal data on population dynamics are collected, abundances of different development stages are recorded and evaluated against the background of common cultivation methods. In the laboratory experiments, influences of the abiotic environment on the physiology of the target organisms are measured. The main focus is on the development speed of the larval stages. In order to be able to carry out the experiments, methods are developed to maintain and propagate the target organisms in cultures. Modelling integrates the collected data from field and laboratory experiments and deals with the determination of parameters that can be used to predict population dynamics.
