Collaborative project: Development and evaluation of a test stand for automatic boom distance controls on field sprayers - subproject 2
Project
Project code: 2815405510
Contract period: 01.07.2012
- 30.06.2014
Budget: 73,000 Euro
Purpose of research: Experimental development
The aim of the project is to develop a test stand for testing of automated systems for distance control of field sprayers. Those electronic devices became wide spread recently with sophisticated sprayers. For sprayers with booms of more than 27 m working width, an appropriate operation is often only possible with computer aids. This is especially true for the control of boom height because only if the right distance between boom and target is maintained an appropriate application with low spray drift is possible. At first a requirement profile is necessary to develop the test stand. A suitable concept shall be derived from this. Next step is the design of the test stand and the selection of appropriate components. Software shall be developed for the control of the test stand and for processing of measuring values. At last the test stand shall be optimised after intensive evaluation.
