Development of a method for evaluation of drift potential in a wind tunnel for nozzles with 25 cm spacing
Project
Project code: JKI-AT-08-1122
Contract period: 01.05.2015
- 30.04.2018
Purpose of research: Applied research
Field sprayers with reduced nozzle spacing of 25 cm allowing reducing boom height and hence to reduce spray drift, if the sprayer is equipped with an automatic boom control systems. Though tests at JKI show some lack of agreement of field test results with wind tunnel data using the standard approach. So it is necessary to develop a new evaluation method for those techniques for the wind tunnel. This is also important since the code of practice in crop protection allows higher travel speeds if the sprayer is equipped with an automatic boom control.
